The story

One morning, Eleanor finds himself in the office of a perfect stranger, in a village as charming as absurd. Michael (Ted Danson), the creator of the place, tells her that she has just died and that she was logically sent to the "right place", where only those with exemplary lives are sent. A little corner of paradise where everything is done so that happiness reigns (like spreading images of adorable otters holding the paw).

Except that ... there's a huge "casting" error. Eleanor, a disobedient young woman and selfish monster who spent her life selling fake medicines to (really) sick people should never have landed here! The "bad girl" jeopardizes the balance of this haven peace, but is determined to learn to be nice (but this is frankly not won!).

Why do we look at The Good Place?

The absurd humor of the series is undoubtedly its major asset. How could it be otherwise, since Michael Schur ( Parks and recreation , Brooklyn Nine Nine ) is in control! One day, giant ladybugs attack the inhabitants of the neighborhood. The next day, a rain of litter falls on the village ... and say that the inhabitants do not even have the right to say big words! (which is worth to us of succulent puns).

The good place: what did we like?

This series is one of the most refreshing of the re-entry. Funny, wacky and with an original screenplay, The Good Place is a pleasant surprise that awakens the television landscape of the comic series by being perfectly anchored in its time. As proof, Eleanor swears only by Ariana Grande and the instagram account of Kendall Jenner!

You'll love it if ...

The Good Place will seduce you if you liked these series:

Pushing Daisies : they share a magical, wonderful and colorful world (on the edge of kitsch), where life after death occupies a central place.

New Girl : If you like the offbeat humor of Jessica Day and her fabulous roommates, you'll love Eleanor and the duo she's shaping up with her sister-in-law, Chidi.

Veronica Mars : Because no fan of the private investigator-apprentice can not sulk his pleasure to find Kristen Bell in series heroine. Especially since its charisma and its freshness are intact.

Lost : How did Eleanor arrive in this funny place? Who are his "other" congeners? Who is behind the screen that counts all the good and bad actions of people during their earthly life? Without forgetting the flashbacks on "his life before" ... If The Good Place does not share the dramatic tone of Lost , it could well explore the same problematic and strange "initiatives" ...
