"L'heure bleue", a perfume of the Belle Epoque

"L'heure bleue" was created by Jacques Guerlain in 1912. This fragrance was inspired to the perfumer by a walk on the banks of the Seine at this pivotal moment of the end of the day. Just before disappearing, the sun takes a slight bluish tint that delighted Jacques Guerlain. It is this personal and very special moment that he tried to recreate in his perfume "L'heure bleue". He then put the Belle Epoque in bottle, these few years of carelessness before the First World War. We also find this spirit in the bottle with the cap in reverse heart which will be resumed later for the perfume "Mitsouko".

"L'heure bleue", an oriental floral perfume

"Guerlain's" blue hour "takes on the appearance of soothing honey-based balm. It mixes notes at once hot and cold which make its originality. The perfume opens with bergamot, clary sage and star anise that bring an aromatic freshness accompanied by the sweetness of the rose, the orange blossom and the spicy carnation extended by the iris . It is the heliotrope that comes to bring the facet of powdered almond which comes to warm the whole. Finally, this olfactory journey ends on a guerlinade typical of the Guerlain house composed of vanilla and labdanum associated with notes of sandalwood and moss that gives this bewitching effect to "L'heure bleue".

"The blue hour" between melancholy and softness

"The blue hour" symbolizes the sweetness of living in the Belle Epoque, but also the melancholy moment when the sun disappears to give way to the shadows of the night. This poetic fragrance is therefore more captivating than sparkling. It seems rather mysterious and will make all its effect at a chic evening. This timeless perfume will delight the discreet and dark women ready to unveil their assets in the oriental scents of the blue hour.
