Licorice dangerous for the heart?

Natural ingredient used in various traditional medicine and appreciated for its benefits in cases of stomach ulcers , bronchitis and different infections and viruses, licorice has a priori assets. Yet, a very serious American study sounds the alarm and urges to limit its consumption. In question ? Glycyrrhizic acid, a sweetener found in the candy in question and that would have an impact on the potassium level in the body . Should we give up the liquorice?

Do not panic, no need to banish these sweets from your closets. The FDA simply recommends limiting licorice consumption to 56 grams per day . Which equates to 3 rolls of licorice. And only black candies are concerned, colored sweets having a lower licorice content, and therefore glycyrrhizic acid. Another recommendation from the FDA? Leave the rolls to the kids ! The risk of seeing one's heart rate racing or arrhythmia would be higher over 40 years. To take care of your heart you do not want to crack on a whole pack of rolls!
