The book opens on a scene where the narrator, beautiful quadra with dark skin, looks at her lover, naked, spread out on the bed. He is white, frightened, bourgeois. She's not. She knows that in five minutes he'll tell her he's leaving her. Follows a sparkling narrative of life and controlled emotion, funny on the bottom of a galley, where time pass and men, the perfume also of its Caribbean origins and the machismo of a mother who tries to convince her that in the couple it is the man who has to pay.

MC: Where does this anger come from?

Fabienne Kanor: My anger, I do not want to shut up. But I try to say it without shouting it. My problem: as a negress - I assume this word - I find it difficult to find my place. In our country, on this side, things are not yet settled. And, to paraphrase Aimé Césaire, I do not want to be the asshole of France anymore.

As a woman and a lover, also anger?

Let's say that my narrator has just been dumped. It does not put a good mood. But she often played the role of the one who leaves. The number one concern is not there: it is the social divide that divides his couple. A question of color and environment. And when separation occurs, it has the haunting of decommissioning, suddenly falling back to its original condition.

And as a writer, still anger?

Even if one of my books sold only 900 copies, it's not so bad for me. But that precariousness I know. For women, it shows, if need be, the difficulty and urgency of also occupying the ground of the money. In any case, faced with galleys and anger, I have the chance to have this good calmant (free): writing.

A friend who wants him well

Anne-Sophie Stefanini, A friend who wants him to be a good young editor at JC Lattès, liked the books of Fabienne Kanor very much. Released by a competitor, Gallimard. Fabienne Kanor, the author of Anticorps, published (confined?) In the collection "Continents noirs", seemed to be stagnant ... So, the day she met, she did not miss the label, opportunity.

"I proposed to publish it in a setting where authors come from everywhere, with no distinction other than talent, and where it might finally not be cataloged according to its origins. "Since each of the two welcomed the meeting - which gave rise to Make the adventure (2014), then I'm not a man crying - when we laugh a lot," Fabienne is made of revolts and lucidity, but a lot of humor too, which allows him not to pour into the pamphlet ... We laugh a lot together, and have become very friends. Even after long discussions on the phone - or by Skype, when she is abroad - we conclude these marathons each time with an invariable: "Vive we see each other to tell each other!"
