The trend

It comes of course from the United States. In the 60s, the American and Anglo-Saxon punks, proudly wear their unusual hair, colored in the manner of a rainbow. Their secret? Real chalks of colors, spread on their hair, the same as you used to make hopscotch in the playground. Since then, the concept has changed. Brought to life by Kevin Murphy in 2012, with its Color Bug, several brands are now surfing the wave Hair Chalk: L'Oreal Paris, The Body Shop, Sephora, and many others. The people were quick to adopt this fashion effect: Nicole Richie's purple hair, Léa Seydoux's blue hair or Vanessa Hudgens' tie and dye rose.

But what is the Hair Chalk?

Word for word, the Hair Chalk means "hair chalk" but rather understand "hair makeup". The Hair Chalk can be worn in a thousand and one ways. In shaded hair, in locks or in tie and dye, according to your desires. And all colors, blue, pink, green, through black, coral or bronze. With the great advantage of being ephemeral.

How is it used?

Nothing is simpler, it's a breeze. Even if we talk about hair chalk, depending on the products, the textures are sometimes liquid. So we also talk about "hair polish". To do this, using a foundation sponge, apply it on dry hair. Spread the color over your lengths with a comb, then dry slightly with a hair dryer. Over the shampoos, the color fades. This is called "make-up removal". Finally, depending on the nature of hair, after 5 to 10 shampoos, the color disappears completely. And for the less adventurous, it is also possible to test the Hair Chalk institute.

Which products?

Those who prefer solid textures, closer to the chalk, will find happiness in products Arcancil, Sephora, H & M or The Body Shop. And for those who feel more comfortable with liquid textures, such as "hair polish", L'Oréal Paris has released its range of Hair Chalk products, with a panel of 8 colors, from the most sober to the most flashy. Or Revlon Professional with its nutri color cream range composed of 19 shades, to be diluted with White cream, for pastel tones. Note, however, that the Hair Chalk dries the hair a little, so it is advisable to do some care at the end of your color period.
